Pantone Quilt Challenge
If you aren't aware what this is, there is a for fun competition/challenge to make a quilt featuring Pantone's colour of the year. This year's colour is Cloud Dancer, a white, and we were challenged to make a minimum 90% white-ish quilt. If you want to see the entries, the link is HERE
My entry is called 'Where did the love go?'; a quilted search and find. The title of this quilt is both commentary on the state of the world and on the quilt itself. The first is self explanatory but let’s dive into the quilt. This quilt is made with my ‘Heart’s Afloat’ pattern (coming out this fall/winter) but is literally missing half the hearts; replaced with blank squares. The pieced hearts that are present are tone on tone white, making them harder to see without looking closely for them. Lastly there are a variety of quilted hearts hidden amongst the pantograph; some are blank, some are hand quilted, some are machine quilted. Each with differing degrees of visibility; the intention being a quilted search and find. In total there are 9 missing hearts, 10 pieced hearts, and 9 quilted hearts. Can you find them all?
