All diagrams and figures are created in Adobe Illustrator to ensure clean, professional visuals. You'll receive them in SVG format by default, so they stay crisp at any size. PNG files can be provided as well if needed.
PDFs are created using Canva, an online design and publishing tool. Canva allows me to provide you with access to your document during creation and after completion. This will allow you to make future changes and export as desired.
I can calculate your fabric requirements manually or digitally, or verify your existing yardage, dimensions, and piece counts for accuracy.
For digital calculations, I've developed a custom Illustrator script that generates fabric estimates based on your design. This method is especially useful for complex quilts or designs with many small pieces, such as FPP, pixel, or appliqué quilts. Whether the calculation is done manually or digitally will depend on the type of quilt, complexity, and whether it can be prepared for the program.
The program has some requirements:
- An SVG or AI file of your design
- Each quilt piece is a shape or closed path
- Ensure that your quilt pattern is the actual size of the finished quilt
- Make sure your quilt design does not have a thin border representing the binding. If you require a binding calculator, I recommend: https://www.quiltersparadiseesc.com/Calculators/Binding%20Calculator.php
Services are $25 CAD per hour, billed in 15 minute increments. A custom invoice will be sent to your email and you can pay on the website with your credit card. If you are in Canada, e-transfers are also an acceptable form of payment.
I began quilting in 2019. Since then I have made a variety of quilt types, garments, and quilt accessories. I specialize in modern designs both traditional and foundation paper pieced.
I work in Geophysics when not on maternity leave, and like to write my own quilt patterns in any spare time.
