Quilt Canada 2026
Back in the winter, I submitted two projects to Quilt Canada for their June show. The Rockstar quilted coat, see blog post here, which didn't make it into the show and my 'Love Afloat' quilt, which did. This was my first quilt in a juried show ever!

Love Afloat was designed to look like hearts floating away like bubbles up the quilt. I had the idea in my mind for quite some time so I was happy to finally sew it up. The feedback I got from the judges was that the quilt back showed through to the front of the quilt. Oh well. How the quilt was lit must have contributed because it's not noticeable in my first photos, when the quilt is against the wall, but you can see the backing when its hanging mid room. The backing I used was Washi in Natural from the Washi Plus Ruby Star line.
My pantone quilt challenge quilt, see blog post here, was based on the same pattern. I am hoping to release it this coming fall/winter!
